WHEREAS, the Lyndhurst Police Emergency Squad for the last 73 years has provided an invaluable lifesaving service to the Township of Lyndhurst and its residents and businesses by responding to a wide variety of medical emergencies within the Township; and
WHEREAS, the Lyndhurst Police Emergency Squad is comprised of many selfless individuals who volunteer countless hours over the course of the year to aid and assist residents of this community and others who require medical assistance, often under very difficult circumstances; and
WHEREAS, all of the residents of our community are deeply appreciative of the volunteer services provided by the membership of the Lyndhurst Police Emergency Squad to our Township since access to quality emergency medical care dramatically improves the survival and recovery rate of those who experience sudden illness or injury; and
WHEREAS, we the members of the Governing Body of the Township of Lyndhurst realize to the fullest extent the irreversible harm that would be caused to this Municipality by residents not continuing to volunteer their time as Emergency Medical Technicians with the Lyndhurst Police Emergency Squad
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to recognize the value and the accomplishments of emergency medical services providers by designating Emergency Medical Services Week; now
WHEREAS, the week of May 17, 2015 through May 23, 2015 is being recognized nationwide as Emergency Medical Services Week With the theme, EMS Strong
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mayor Robert B. Giangeruso, Mayor of the Township of Lyndhurst, hereby declare May 17, 2015 through May 23, 2015 in the Township of Lyndhurst as,
EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES WEEK
In honor of the Lyndhurst Police Emergency Squad and strongly encourage residents to consider joining the Lyndhurst Police Emergency Squad as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician.
